Adult Artist Workshop: Abstract Landscape Painting

Saturday, March 19, 10:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., and Sunday, March 20, noon–4:30 p.m.
Artist and Augusta State University instructor Tom Crowther leads participants through the process of painting a large abstract landscape inspired by the exhibition I Will Tell You a Place. All materials are included. PLU credit may be available for teachers from select counties; call for details. Members, $100; nonmembers, $115. Paid registration due by March 11.

Art of Fine Living

Greet spring with flowers and friends as we work with gardening and outdoors guru Mary Louise Hagler to bring the garden to the table. Museum members, $35; nonmembers, $50. Cost includes light hors d’oeuvres and flowers. Please bring clippers. Call 706-828-3803 by April 15 to register.

Art as a Window to the Mind: The Art of Finding Yourself 
Abstract expressionist painter Laura Spong, whose work represents a personal spiritual quest, and Alex Mabe, Ph.D., professor and clinical psychologist at the Georgia Health Sciences University, discuss the psychological implications behind the artist’s paintings, with a focus on finding one’s identity through the process of creating art. Reception follows. Free to invited guests and Morris Museum members.
