LOCATION
The Morris Museum of Art is located on the Riverwalk, overlooking the Savannah River, at 1 Tenth Street (Augusta Riverfront Center) in downtown, Augusta, Georgia. The museum galleries are located on the second floor of the Augusta Riverfront Center. The auditorium is on the first floor. Administrative offices and the Center for the Study of Southern Art are located on the third floor. Detailed directions >

PARKING
Monday–Friday, normal business hours: free parking is available on the west side of the Augusta Riverfront Center in designated visitor spaces. Additionally, paid parking is available in the city parking lot next to the Marriott on Tenth Street.

Visitors to the museum after 5:00 p.m. on weekdays and at anytime on weekends may park in any available spaces in the Augusta Riverfront Center parking lot.

TOURS
Guided tours of the museum's permanent collection are available every Sunday afternoon. See the calendar for a current schedule of general museum tours. Group tours are available by appointment and can be customized to meet the specific needs and interests of your group. Find out more about group tours.

SERVICES

  • A coat check is located next to the reception desk.
  • Strollers are available for small children.
  • Wheelchairs are available upon request.

POLICIES

  • Please do not touch works of art.
  • Food and beverages are not allowed in the galleries.
  • Tobacco products and chewing gum are strictly prohibited anywhere in the facility.
  • Umbrellas, backpacks, and large bags are not allowed in the galleries.
  • In consideration of other visitors, please silence your cell phones and refrain from conversation in the galleries.
  • Pets are not allowed in the galleries. However, assistive animals, such as guide dogs for the blind are permitted.
  • Sketching, in lead or color pencil only, is permitted in the permanent collection galleries and in most special exhibitions. Please inquire at the visitor services desk before sketching in special exhibitions. The use of paints, watercolors, pens, charcoal, chalk, crayons, or markers is not permitted.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Still photography is permitted—for private, noncommercial use only—in the museum's galleries devoted to its permanent collection. Photographs cannot be published, sold, reproduced, transferred, distributed (including publication on the Internet), or otherwise commercially exploited in any manner whatsoever. The use of a flash or tripod is prohibited at all times. Photography is not permitted in special exhibitions or in areas designated as "No Photography."
