Morris Museum of ArtLearn

Center for the Study of Southern Art

Library Services

The librarian is available Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for reference or research assistance. Please call the library before you visit, to ensure that the librarian will be available to help you. If you do not live in the Augusta, Georgia, area, your local public library or a nearby university library may have the information you need.

Even though library materials are noncirculating, they may be used on-site. The library does not offer interlibrary loan services.

If you want to know more about an artist and you know the artist's full name, the library has many reference books and vertical files that may have the information you want.

Determining the Value of a Work of Art

Neither the library nor the museum appraises or authenticates works of art. For information about art appraisals and appraiser referrals, go to the web sites for the American Society of Appraisers (www.appraisers.org), the Appraisers Association of America (www.appraisersassoc.org), the International Society of Appraisers (www.isa-appraisers.org), and the Art Dealers Association of America (www.artdealers.org).

For more information, call Cary Wilkins at 706-828-3801 or send email to wcary@themorris.org.
