Morris Museum of ArtLearn

The Morris in Your Classroom

The Morris Museum brings art to your school.

Math at the Morris

We make math fun! In this three-session program, our traveling instructor teaches a pre-visit lesson to your class, after which students participate in a math trail at the museum. Following the visit, the instructor returns to the school to reinforce the math and art concepts learned in the museum.

Pen and Paint

Students enjoy using artwork as a writing prompt in this outreach program. It is ideal for preparing them for the writing assessment given to students in grades 3, 5, 8, and 11 and for the Combining Voices literary competition. An instructor conducts a session at school before and after a museum visit.

The Ties That Bind: African American Art and Artists

This is a three-part program that begins at the school with a slide presentation stressing the South's African American heritage. On another day, students tour the museum and participate in an optional hands-on art activity. The program, although ideal for Black History Month, is available through the school year.
