DOCENT PROGRAMS AND RESOURCES
Volunteer docents lead tours, assist with special events, greet museum guests, and participate in continuing education classes. Docent volunteers enjoy meeting students and members of the public and engaging museum visitors in learning experiences through the visual arts.
Docent training is an intensive program designed to provide docent candidates with the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience to lead interpretive tours. The training is organized into discrete modules incorporated into a thirteen-week course. Trainees are expected to attend all training sessions and complete assigned readings and research assignments. The next docent training will be in September of 2011.
