Noon. Films on Friday: The Palm Beach Story (1942). A romantic screwball comedy starring Claudette Colbert, Joel McCrea, Mary Astor, and Rudy Vallée, this Preston Sturges film was named by the American Film Institute as one of the one hundred funniest American films. After viewing the film, museum director Kevin Grogan leads a discussion. Participants are invited to bring a lunch. FREE.

6:00 p.m. Exhibition Opening: Working South: Paintings and Sketches by Mary Whyte. Critically acclaimed watercolorist Mary Whyte discusses her extraordinary paintings. Reception follows. Members, free; nonmembers, $5.00.
Saturday, December 3
9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Artist Workshop: Watercolors with Mary Whyte. Nationally recognized watercolorist Mary Whyte presents a one-day artist workshop focusing on portraiture techniques for all skill levels. Space is limited to only thirteen participants, and advance registration is required. Basic materials included. Members, $300; nonmembers, $325. Paid registration required.

2:00–5:00 p.m. Very Merry Morris Sunday. Join us as we celebrate the season! At 2:00 p.m., enjoy traditional holiday tunes by Celtic duo Lillie Morris and Michael Hay during Music at the Morris or take part in a gallery scavenger hunt and create handcrafted ornaments and greeting cards during Artrageous! Family Sunday. Stop in the museum store to pick up all of your last-minute gifts, and take advantage of special discounts and giveaways. FREE.

Eclectic Visions: Art by Educators in the Savannah River Area, the fourth annual exhibition featuring the artwork of art educators working in Richmond, Columbia, Wilkes, Aiken, and Edgefield County public and private schools, will be on display in the Education Gallery.
